Maths is divided into 3 Strands - Number & Algebra; Geometry & Measurement; and Statistics.

Number and Algebra

Number forms a large part of our maths learning and all other aspects of maths rely on this knowledge.  What do we need to learn in this area?  

The Maths Stages and concepts we look at are outlined in these posters.

 The National Standard for those children who have completed 2 years at school (usually on their birthday) will need to be working at Stage 4.  This forms a part of the Overall Teacher Judgement.

The National Standard for those children who have completed 3 years at school (usually on their birthday) will need to be working at Stage 5.  This forms a part of the Overall Teacher Judgement.
